Host a Yarn Drive

Yarn is our middle name! The Magic Yarn Project goes through over a thousand skeins of yarn per month, and each one was donated by a volunteer like you. 

 

In order to keep little cancer fighters safe and healthy, The Magic Yarn Project ONLY accepts yarn that:

  • is NEW (if you have old yarn that you would like to find a good home for, we love partnering with Project Linus)
  • comes from SMOKE-FREE homes
  • is stored in PET-HAIR-FREE rooms/environments
  • is 100% ACRYLIC (no wool, alpaca, or other animal fibers)


In order to match all of the parts and pieces properly that it takes to make a completed wig, we only accept certain brands and colors of yarn. We always need the following donations:
  • Caron Simply Soft in “Sunshine,” “White,” “Harvest Red,” “Chocolate,” and “Black”
  • Caron Party Sparkle in “Snow White,” “Red,” and “Black”
  • Lion Brand Heartland in “Yosemite”
  • Lion Brand Homespun in “Black”
  • Lion Brand Hometown in “Oakland Black,” “Chicago Charcoal,” “Little Rock Granite,” and “Billings Chocolate”
  • Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in “Black,” “Barley,” “Charcoal,” “Obsidian,” “Granite,” and “Wood”
