💜 How do I find out when Virtual Workshops will be available?

All available workshops are listed right here on this page, organized by character. Use the scroll bar at the right of each character’s list to see all past and upcoming virtual workshops featuring that character’s wig. 

💜 How do I sign up?

On your favorite character’s list on this page, select the virtual workshop date and time that work best for you. Tap on the drop-down box that says “0” and select “1” to register for one slot. Then click the red “Register” button and enter your contact information.

💜 What items do I need to be able to participate?

You can see detailed item lists for each of our wigs using the character buttons on this page. (These PDFs are also linked on each event registration.) In general, you will need a digital device with a camera and microphone (cell phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers with webcams all work great for this), plus a wig stand and foam head, glue gun and crochet hook, and yarn for the wig “hair.”

💜 What If I don’t crochet?

No problemo! All volunteers who sign up for a workshop slot will be sent ALL crocheted items needed for their workshop wig, including the beanie and any accessories.

Interested in making your own? Because of our strict quality-control standards, we can only accept beanies that have been made by “approved crocheters.” Talk to your Region Leader if you’d like more information.

💜 How do I join the Virtual Workshop? 

After you register for the workshop, you will receive an email with links to all the information you need. You’ll see a “Digital Files” menu under your Eventbrite information; this will contain a link to the Zoom video chat.

If you’ve never used Zoom before, it’s as simple as clicking on a website link! You can view a Zoom video chat in any web browser. You can also download Zoom’s free app for phones, tablets, and desktop computers. The app is optional, but it does make navigating the Zoom video controls a bit simpler. You can find the correct Zoom app for your device by searching in your browser or app store for “Zoom.”

If you will be joining us from a desktop computer, please be sure that you have a working webcam, speakers, and microphone attached, and please test them to be sure your computer settings are working for them before the workshop begins.

💜 What do I do with the wig when it’s done? 

Once your wig is completed, you will mail it to your Region Leader for quality inspection and to be packaged and sent to a child on our list. (Wonder who your Region Leader is? You can find her on our Find Your Leader page.)
